The Meristem Phillies are Back for a 4th Year!
On May 8th & 15th, The Meristem and the All About Ability students will join The Tug McGraw Foundation's all veteran softball team known as the Mixed Nutts-veterans who range in ages from 54 to 90 years young. They reside at the Veterans Home of California, Yountville. Built in 1884, it's one of the oldest and largest Veterans Homes in the country also known as Soldiers Homes. In the early 1900s the Home built a baseball field and funded a semi-pro team to entertain the veterans who lived there. Today, we know this historic field as the Cleve Borman Field. The Mixed Nutts play in uniforms replicated from the Home's 1916 team.
