Borman Field Home of the Mixed Nutts

We will be back soon!

Tug McGraw Mixed Nutts' Program

Through America's favorite pastime, the Tug McGraw's Mixed Nutts program connects players from the Veterans Home of California, Yountville with their surrounding community through the game of softball. Each year we have the opportunity to share the game and the deep history of Borman Field with locals and newcomers of all ages. In return, their participation creates new friendships both on-and-off the field while enjoying outdoor exercise and team camaraderie.

We aim to empower, encourage and support veterans and individuals of all ages who want to explore playing ball, in spite of physical or other challenges. Players from the Yountville Veterans home suit-up in Home's original 1915 uniform that the foundation had replicated.   They range in ages from 62 to 94 years Young! simply taking in a game as a spectator are important ways to improve overall wellness and quality of life.
