The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that has been established to raise funds for pioneering brain cancer research, to support college students with leadership potential to carry on Tug's Ya Gotta Believe spirit and to raise public awareness of the disease of brain cancer. Over 200,000 adults and children annually live with a diagnosis of brain cancer and the mission of the Foundation is to move science forward to improve their quality of life in the critical physical, social, spiritual and cognitive areas.

The Tug McGraw Foundation will develop programs and raise funds for three main activities to support the mission:

• Grant program for Neuro-Oncology Quality of Life Research at medical and research institutions in the United States
• The Diamond 45 Scholarship Program for collegiate scholars
• Public awareness and education activities to promote knowledge and understanding of brain cancer and related issues
